Its
Cure time again, and that means its time to haul out the DAT again. Folks, its
time to realize technology has marched on. For me that means virtually never
will I send CD’s anymore. It’s all about private FTP, or for the stuff that
people want to be heard it means Bittorrent. Either
way, I don’t have time to do the post office anymore. FLAC and SHN are the preferred
methods of distribution. Unless you’re a proven trader or a taper yourself, I
probably am not interested in doing trading. The game is way to
flooded now with the Mp3>WAV CD>Mp3>WAV CD crowd and I want no part of
getting shows with that kind of lineage.
Euros,
this might be a struggle, but many of my Euro friends have figured out DSL or
cable internet. Trust me you will pay for this in simple postage alone. So if
you want to trade, its time to get on broadband and do it correctly.
For items I am converting , they are done the following way
Analog Tapes : Tapes are run through 3 head denon deck, no noise reduciton at all. With gold cables they are input into a egosys waveterminal 2496 soundcard and sampled to wav at 44.1 for conversion to CDR
Digital Converions : DATS are run via either a coax 7 pin or a optical cable/dr.d/coax setup into the egosys wt 2496 and sampled at 44.1 into wav files for conversion to CDR
All CDS extracted of course with EAC secure mode.
No gaps on cds, no songs cut in half please, no 60 minute not tracked CDs unless agreed to (ie dont surprise me with this)
