Back in one of the cities that the Cure plays great. There has not been a bad New Orleans Cure gig as long as I can remember, so there rewarded with two shows at the small Saenger Theater. Setup much like Paris, tonight was the "Pornography" night with breathtaking performances of "Siamese Twins", "Figurehead" and the show stopper "Pornography". Some of my friends said it was the best Cure gig they have ever seen in the states. "Same Deep Water" as you is the perfect middle song for the usually short "Disintegration" encore..Are there 3 more emotional songs from Disintegration that those,they flow perfectly. For Prayer Tour afficionados, we all know "Same Deep Water" needs about 5 playings before it starts to get good. Robert has to really feel the middle section on the bass and not get lost...People who know say he is playing the correct notes, going down low on the bass, but it still hasnt all come back to him yet, and once it does its as great as it gets. So keep this one in the "Plainsong", "Disintegration " encore. It might put back some musical creativity back in the show since the band has perfected all the other songs in the set, this is one that still can challenge them every night till they get it correct. So Tommorrow we probably get the Faith set, at least that what everyone is looking forward to.
